In Memorium: Sheila Bugdanowitz

Sheila Bugdanowitz, an icon in the Colorado philanthropic community unexpectantly passed on December 4, 2016.  She had lead the Rose Community Foundation since 1998 as president and chief executive officer.  In the words of the Board of Trustees Chair, Jerry Click: “She embodied the Foundation’s values of philanthropy, justice and non-discrimination and its mission to make the Greater Denver community a better place. Her leadership shaped what Rose Community Foundation is today.”

A Denver native and graduate of the University of Denver, she was vice president for Colorado Carphone prior to joining the Foundation.  Over the years, she has served the community beyond her role as leader of the Foundation and has been honored on numerous occasions for her philanthropic commitment to Colorado.

A funeral service in honor of her life was held on Tuesday, December 6 at Temple Emanuel in Denver.  In accordance with her family’s wishes, gifts in her honor may be made to Rose Community Foundation online or sent to 600 South Cherry Street, Denver, CO, 80246.
