Healthcare Organizations Lobby for Cost Sharing Reductions Funding

Seven major healthcare associations and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have jointly sent letters to the President of the United State and Congressional Leaders expressing their universal appeal that the Congress and the President quickly act to stabilize the individual health insurance market by shoring up and funding the “Cost Sharing Reduction” program of the Affordable Care Act.  The CSR was not addressed in the final regulations issued last week by CMS.

Without funding the organizations fear that consumer choice will be reduced, premiums for both exchange and traditional insureds will increase significantly, and uncompensated care will rise.  The letters are linked below.
