Dr. Mark A. Levine to Retire from CMS

Chief Medical Officer for Region VIII of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Dr. Mark Levine, has announced his plans to retire at the end of April.   For thirteen years, he has served Region VIII which includes the five states of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.    As CMO, Dr. Levine advised the regional administrator on health care policy and service matters, and took a leadership role in the development of several innovate, national programs to improve the delivery of care.

Dr. Levine is a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics at the University of Colorado Denver Health Sciences Center.  He is also active in the Center for Bioethics and Humanities and a Clinical Professor at the Colorado School of Public Health.
