Lt. Gov. Actively Explores Gubernatorial Run

During a ceremony celebrating Colorado’s 140th anniversary of statehood on August 1,  Lt. Governor Donna Lynne officially announced that she is seriously exploring a run for the Governorship of Colorado.  Governor Hickenlooper is term-limited after his current term is up.

Lt. Gov. Lynne  was sworn into office in May, 2016, replacing then Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia.   Given her background, the Governor enhanced her leadership role within state government by appointing her chief operating officer, as well.   Lynne came to Colorado in 2005 as executive vice president of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.

Lynne intends to make a decision on her gubernatorial run in early September.
