UCHealth Students Get Hands-On Training

University of Colorado health sciences students from a variety of medical disciplines have been given the opportunity to get hands-on clinic training while completing their degrees.  Each Tuesday night, students volunteer their time for Aurora’s DAWN (Dedicated to Aurora’s Wellness and Needs) Clinic.

The clinic is located in the Dayton Street Opportunity Center at 1445 Dayton Street in Aurora.   The training received at the clinic is invaluable to the students and the services that the students provide create community goodwill and provide at-risk patients with needed care that can prevent unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations.

The University of Colorado and University of Colorado Hospital have been involved with the program since its inception two years ago.   Both institutions remain committed to supporting and helping fund the DAWN clinic.
