Merger Will Create Largest Private Hospital Operator in Nation

Tennessee-based IASIS, operator of Pikes Peak Regional Medical Center in Woodland Park, Colo., will be acquired by Boston-based Steward Health Care System.

Following regulatory approval of the acquisition, the merger would create a network of 36 hospitals across 10 states and would establish Steward as the largest private for-profit hospital operator in the country.  IASIS has 18 hospitals located in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Texas and Utah.
