New Interim Colorado Insurance Commissioner

Michael Conway has been named interim Colorado Insurance Commissioner by Governor John Hickenlooper.  He will take over the role from current Insurance Commissioner, Marguerite Salazar, who has been serving in two roles since her gubernatorial appointment in July 2017 as executive director of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).    The Division of Insurance is an agencies under DORA.

Conway has been with the Division of Insurance since March 2016.  He has served as Deputy Commissioner for Consumer and Compliance Services.  Among his many duties, he oversaw the division’s efforts to retain each of the health insurance companies on the 2018 individual market that had offerings in 2017. Before coming to DOI, Conway was an assistant attorney general in the Insurance Unit of the Attorney General’s Office for 6 years.
