UCHealth to Add Hospital

UCHealth has signed a purchase agreement to buy Pikes Peak Regional Hospital in Woodland Park.   The 15-bed hospital is currently held by Boston-based Steward Health Care System LLC.  Steward is the nation’s largest privately held hospital company.  It operates 36 hospitals with more than 5,000-beds in ten states.  Steward acquired Pikes Peak Regional Hospital in its merger with IASIS Healthcare, prior owner of the facility.

Pikes Peak Regional opened in 2006 and primarily serves Teller and Park County residents.  It has partnered with UCHealth Medical Group in the provision of patient care in specialty areas for several years.  The purchase is expected to be completed in April of this year.
