After 18 Years, Cindy Palmer Retires as CEO of San Luis Valley Health Plan

Cindy Palmer, the CEO of Friday Health Plans of Colorado, has announced her retirement.  She has served as CEO of the San Luis Valley health plan for eighteen years and has spearheaded many changes including two corporate names.  Friday Health Plans of Colorado was previously known as Colorado Choice Health Plans and originally chartered as San Luis Valley HMO some 46 years ago.

During her tenure, Palmer has grown the health plan from 16 to 68 employees and has expanded its reach from a six county region in southern Colorado to its current market that includes 39 counties.

The Colorado Division of Insurance and the State Attorney General granted regulatory approval for the acquisition of Colorado Choice Health Plans by parent company Friday Health Plans on June 1, 2017.
