$3 Million Grant to Study Binge Eating

The University of Colorado Brain Research Program and EDCare have received a $3 million grant to collaborate on a five-year research study on binge eating disorders.  The grant funder is the National Institute of Mental Health and the research will be the first of its kind in the country.  Binge Eating Disorders surpass three fold the incidents of anorexia and bulimia combined in the U.S. population, yet little research has been done on the subject to date.

Dr. Guido Frank, a University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus professor will be the lead on the project.  EDCare, formerly known as Eating Disorder Center of Denver, is one of the foremost centers for the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders in the country.
