CVS to Add In-Home Kidney Care to Its Offerings

Pharmaceutical powerhouse, CVS, has announced plans to add chronic kidney disease monitoring and dialysis to its expanding range of services.   The corporation’s focus on addressing chronic disease issues to improve patient health has driven the decision.

CVS and Coram will expand their specialty infusion home service to include a chronic kidney disease initiative.  They will develop and administer the new program  of early detection, education and in-home care for the treatment of the disease.   A home dialysis program will be a cornerstone of the new initiative.   A newly designed home hemodialysis device is in the clinical trial stage of development to meet this objective.
