Employer Benefits Survey from Lockton Released

Lockton is out with its 2018 edition of The Colorado Employer Benefits Survey Report.    Using 2017 data, the survey found that the number one concern among employers was the shortage of qualified workers to fill open positions.  Second and third among their concerns were insurance rate increases and regulatory demands on employers created by health care reform.

The survey of 285 Colorado employers found an increase in the initial rate of premiums of 7.7 percent, while salaries  increased 2.5 percent in 2017 compared to 2016 data.    After adjustments for employee contributions, reduced benefits and carrier changes, the actual increase was estimated at 5.8 percent.
