Change at the Top at COPIC

Dr. Ted Clarke, Chairman and CEO at COPIC Insurance Company, will step aside in 2019.  He has lead the organization since 2005.  Prior to joining COPIC, he spent 20 years as an orthopaedic surgeon and partner with Western Orthopaidics.

Dr. Gerald Zarlengo, a longtime Denver gynecologist and obstetrician, has been selected to lead the medical liability insurance provider upon his retirement.  Zarlengo, a COPIC board member since 2009, was selected after a candidate review process overseen by COPIC’s board. Per the company’s bylaws, the CEO must be a physician.

Zarlengo is the founding partner of Midtown Obstetrics & Gynecology in Denver. He has served as  medical  director of perinatal services at Sisters of Charity Leavenworth Health System and medical director of women’s and children’s services at Saint Joseph Hospital.
