National Emergency Nurses Association Honors Two Colorado Emergency Departments

The Emergency Nurses Association is out with 19 names of emergency departments to receive their prestigious Lantern Award.  Colorado is home to two of the 2018 recipients:  St. Anthony Hospital Emergency Department in Lakewood, and Swedish Medical Center Emergency Department in Englewood.    The award recognizes EDs that demonstrate excellent practices, foster teaching environments and promote industry leadership.

The Lantern Award is named in honor of Florence Nightingale who is known as the “Lady of the Lamp”.    She is remembered for her tireless efforts, into the night, to provide care to wounded soldiers during the Crimean War.
