United’s MA Members Denied Care at UC Hospital & CU Medicine

UCHealth’s University of Colorado Hospital and University of Colorado School of Medicine have severed ties with UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare Advantage plans and are no longer seeing patients with that form of coverage.

The dispute arises over allegations by the hospital and medical school that the insurer was not following the medical claims reimbursement and appeals process established by the institutions.   UnitedHealthcare is working with its members to inform them of the situation and provide care alternatives.
