Dr. Wolk Moves from CMO of State to Wonderful Company

Dr. Larry Wolk has served as the chief medical officer and executive director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment since 2013.  He has submitted his resignation to take a new position as chief medical officer for Santa Monica, Calif.-based Wonderful Company.  His new employer manufacturers a variety of national “health brand” products.

As the head of CDPHE, his legacy is impressive and includes medical challenges in dealing with Ebola and Zika viruses, marijuana legalization policy development, hospital safety oversight  and health concerns surrounding oil and gas development.

Deputy executive director of CDPHE will assume interim executive director duties for the department and Dr. Tista Ghosh, deputy medical director, will become interim chief medical officer until the end of Governor Hickenlooper’s term in office.
