Leadership at HCA to Change

CEO R. Milton Johnson of Nashville-based HCA Healthcare has announced his retirement effective at the end of the year.   He will stay on as chairman of the board of directors through the 2019 annual shareholders’ meeting on April 26, 2019.   Mr. Johnson has been with the corporation for 36 years and in its top leadership position since 2014.

He will be replaced by the mega-healthcare systems current president and COO Sam Hazen.  Hazen has been with HCA for 30 years and has served as COO since January 2015 and as president since November 2016.   In his previous role with HCA, he served as the company’s Western Group president and Western Group CFO.
