Joe Swedish Begins New Venture

Well known to Coloradoans since his time heading the Colorado-based Centura Health system, Joe Swedish became CEO of the national powerhouse Anthem.

Four years as Chief Executive Officer notably included a move to merge with Cigna. The  merger was stymied by regulators. After stepping away from the CEO role,  Swedish stayed on as an executive chairman of the board until May 2018.

For his next role in healthcare, he is the co-founder of Concord Health Partners. The firm invests in companies “that have the potential to enhance the value of healthcare through technology and solutions that lower costs, improve quality and/or expand access to care,” according to its website, ConcordHP.com.
