Change at the Top at Sterling Regional MedCenter

Chief Nursing Officer Wade Tyrell has been appointed as the interim CEO for Sterling Regional MedCenter, a Banner Health hospital.  Tyrell has served as the chief nursing officer for five hospitals since his first appointed to serve as CNO at HCA Healthcare’s Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas in 1995.  He joined Sterling Regional MedCenter in January 2014.

He replaces Hoyt Skabelund who has carried both the CEO title at Sterling as well as CEO for Banner Health Western Division Rural.  The reassignment will allow Skabelund to concentrate on Western Division responsibilities following the reassignment of two formerly Banner Health Arizona Division hospitals to the Western Division.    Skabelund has served as CEO at Sterling Regional MedCenter since April 2017.
