First Female CEO at Parkview Medical Center

Leslie Barnes has the distinction of being the first woman to lead Parkview Medical Center in its 95-year history.   She comes to the position with a 20 year commitment to the hospital and its success.  Beginning in the accounting department, she has progressively moved up in a variety of leadership roles, most recently serving as COO and senior vice president.    Before joining Parkview, she was the director of budget and reimbursement at St. Mary Corwin Regional Medical Center in Pueblo.

She replaces Mike Baxter who announced his decision to step down as CEO in September of last year with an intended February 2019 exit.  He became CEO in April 2009 following ten years as COO and senior vice president of Parkview Health System.
