Denver Health to Open Urgent Care Center Downtown

This summer will see the opening of an Urgent Care Center in the former Denver Dry Goods Company building at 1545 California Street.   The new center will be the second site for Denver Health’s Adult Urgent Care program, the first is located on the hospital’s main campus at 777 Bannock Street.

The downtown facility will offer same-day, walk-in medical evaluation and care.  It will be the closest facility to the central business district.  The other two urgent care centers are located at Union Station and the Baker neighborhood near 1st and Broadway.

Denver Health’s decision to establish the new center was motivated by the dramatic growth in the downtown area.  The central business district employees 130,000 workers and accommodates 45,000 college students.   In addition to these factors, the residential population in the inner city has tripled since 2000.
