Steve ErkenBrack Leaves Rocky Mountain Health Plans

Steve ErkenBrack announced that he would be leaving UnitedHealth’s Rocky Mountain Health Plans sometime this summer.  The announcement on May 21 was not anticipated.  He has lead the health plan since 2009 serving as president and CEO.  Prior to that, he served as vice president of legal and government affairs for the organization from 2002 to 2008.

ErkenBrack has spent his legal career in private practice, government affairs and health care.  He served four years as the Chief Deputy Attorney General for Colorado and six years as the District Attorney for Mesa County.

His service to Colorado’s health care industry includes appointments to the Commission for Health Care Reform in 2006, board of directors for Health Insurance Exchange in 2011 and the Colorado Commission for Affordable Health Care in 2015.  In addition, his legal and health care knowledge have served a variety of national and local associations.
